I tested this with a simple title type (Upper) and the emoji is visible in the shared movie. It won't work with all titles, some of which have restrictions on fonts that can be used. When writing the title you have to click on the 'Font' pull down menu and select 'Show fonts' (the last item). In the fonts window which appears choose 'Apple color emoji'. Then open the 'show emoji & symbols' from the keyboard viewer in the Mac menu bar (has to be enabled in system preferences - keyboard). From the emoji viewer select the emoji and drag and drop into the title in the iMovie viewer. It will be very small and you will need to increase the font size.
