Magsafe 2 to USB C converter

Will Apple be making a Magsafe 2 to USB C converter? Is anyone aware of a third-party option?

I recently got a Macbook Pro 15" (late 2016) and am furious at the extra expense of adapters needed to incorporate this machine into my setup (USB to USB-C, USB-C Digital AV multiport, HDMI cables, USB hub...). Now I need a second power adapter, and given that I have several Magsafe power adapters lying around I'd prefer to use a converter stead of buying a new USB-C power adapter.

It's sneaky of Apple to not include needed adapters with the machine. What should have been a pleasant quick-start has become a nightmare of unexpected purchasing and stalled setup.

Griffin is only good for 60W & it should be rated for 5Amps or 87W, otherwise spec does not match

There are people on Chinese auction sites selling these with magsafe1/2 versions if you look hard enough.

If they are licensed and if they work are questions not for me.....

I have tried to use a Magsafe to USB-C adapter but it was not possible to fit the Magsafe connector in the socket of the convertor box. Hence I have doubts as to how these products can be tested.

It just magsafe style plug, can't reuse the magsafe adapter.

This is not helpful unfortunately. OP and others were specifically looking for Apple MagSafe to USB-C.

The OP clearly stated that he was looking for an adapter in order to use his OLD chargers.

I've ordered one of the AnyWatt adapters. Says it's magsafe to USB-C, so let's see... $24 wasn't too much to pay to give it a try

I could not agree with you more. My employer provided this machine otherwise I would be very upset. It is ridiculous that there is no way to reliably charge my new MB Pro with my Thunderbolt
