Turn off timezones in ical

How do I turn off timezones in ical? I frequently move between timezones and my calendar frequently gets messed up. On my phone, I can set a timezone override. is this possible to do on Sierra? Alternatively, is there a way to change the timezone in all events to be set as floating?

Open calendar & its preferences click on advanced & untick the box of turn on time zone support .

Double-click the event, or force click it. Click the event’s date, click the Time Zone pop-up menu, then choose an option.

  • To choose a time zone that’s not listed, choose Other.
  • To keep the event from moving when you view a different time zone, choose Floating.

Thanks for your response. When I turn off timezone support, the events are set to be in whatever timezone I'm currently in, so this doesn't help unfortunately.

I've found that selecting "Floating" in the timezone settings for each event does make it so events don't move.

I was wondering if there's a way to change this on all events at once or to set "floating" as the default timezone. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

The best solution I've found it to turn on timezone support, then to select AEST in the timezone option because this was the timezone I was in when I made the events. This is a good temporary solution but will pose a problem if I need to invite others to my events.

It's frustrating there isn't a timezone override option like there is on the iPhone.

I checked the box of turn on time zone support in calendar preferences .

Opened up calendar application right clicked on the desired date to create a new event and choose time zone as floating , just drag and dropped this event to another date , the event was shifted to another date .

In the same way I created a new event on another date and applied the same method as above it really worked .
