2015 Retina 13" MBP freezing on wake when connected to Dell P2715Q

I have two identical (hardware-wise) systems suffering identical symptoms.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

Both have had their logic boards replaced by Apple, but the issue persists.

When the system goes to sleep while connected to the Dell P2715Q via the Thunderbolt 2 port going to the Displayport port on the Dell, and is subsequently woken from sleep, the MBP [sometimes] freezes. The cursor stops moving, the Dell display goes black (but does NOT display the "no signal" message), nothing responds.

Even the taptic feedback on the touchpad stops responding.

I haven't noticed this issue on any other display model, but since 80% of our displays are P2715Qs it can't be ruled out. I have not had this happen from the HDMI port, but again have not intentionally tested for it.

Most of our systems are 15" MBPs or 13" MBAs, and those systems do not suffer this issue ever.

Any help would be very much appreciated, as this is causing some severe work loss.

I disabled DDC/CI, and for the first time in a long time, my Mac and Dell both woke from sleep just now with no issues. There are several posts on MacRumors of people discovering the same:

and also here Problems with DELL P2415Q monitor not waking from sleep.

I have a P2415Q which I believe is substantially similar to the P2715Q except for the obvious smaller size.

I'll update this if I find out otherwise, but in the absence of an update, assume my experience matches others.

I am also experiencing the exact same problem on exactly the same hardware configuration.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

Dell Monitor P2715Q.

I also have had my logic board replaced. When I explained that hepatic feedback fails and the screen goes black during the crash they decided to also replace the trackpad and screen... However it seems like this is an issue with the EFI?
