Searching in safari- how to hide bookmarks and history

Hello,

Any time I am searching something through adress bar in Safari, an annoying grey bar is popping out with search recommendations in bookmarks and history. I think it was absent before I updated MacOs to 10.12.2 few days ago, but I'm not sure. Is there any way to turn it off? because it blocks part of my screen, and I need to make 1 additional click to make it disappear. I tried to show what I mean through Gyazo Gif : https://gyazo.com/ff6ab61773816ac5af0a8e67f81def2c

Any Ideas how to turn it off?

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.2), Safari

Take cursor on top menu bar click on history > again scroll down > click on history . Do the settings as shown in the screen shot .

User uploaded file

And finally click on clear history , at the end of the day , the user must clear all history & website data as no pending history , cookies must be saved , I personally use this method it's very convenient .

Have you figured it out? I'm having the same issue with Safari. When I type something into the address bar the drop down will display my "Bookmarks and History". I've managed to turn all other options off such as search results but not the bookmarks and history. Why is this so difficult, I think I've now spent an hour researching it.

If you do not want your Spotlight and Look Up search queries and Spotlight Suggestions usage data sent to Apple, you can turn off Spotlight Suggestions. If you see the “Allow Spotlight Suggestions in Spotlight and Look Up” checkbox in the Search Results pane of Spotlight preferences (in System Preferences on your Mac), deselect it, and deselect the Bing Web Searches checkbox. Otherwise, deselect the checkboxes for Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Searches. If you turn off Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Searches, Spotlight will search the contents of only your Mac and Look Up will search only the dictionary on your Mac.
