Adapter Voltage Difference

I think the DC output voltages on the respective wall charger adapters that came with iPhone7+ and the iPad Air2 are slightly different. Since the difference is minimal, is there any risk of damage by interchanging them? Will both work with both products?

You're quite welcome, and I understand your concern. The Apple link below shows the compatible devices for the 12 Watt iPad charger.

I understand your concern, but the USB standard says the voltage must be 5V +-0.5V, so essentially 4.5 volts to 5.5 volts. So 5.2 volts is within spec.

The current output is not a concern, because the phone will only use what it needs. The "cube" can supply 1 amp, and the 12W can supply 2.2 amps. If you use the 12W adapter for an iPhone 6 or later it will charge initially at 1.5 amps, which means the phone will charge slightly faster. But it is still within the design limit of the phone. Phones before the 6 will still only use 1 amp, even from a 12W adapter.
