launchservicesd eating up CPU% and heating up my mac

My MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) updated to macOS Sierra 10.12.2 has this ongoing issue with the listed issue above. Tried following instructions from other users that seem to be having a similar problem, but nothing seems to resolve it entirely.


Followed the instructions on these discussions launchd eating up CPU% , so Im enclosing the required screen shot pics here. User uploaded file


Thinking that has something to do with malware, I installed Avast and doing a full system scan as I write this, but any help would be appreciated.
