verizon router with airport

I just had Verizon setup a new Verizon router as an upgrade to 150mb/sec. It is connected to a airport extreme. I want to know if the airport extreme limits the speed of the Verizon router and setup I have? If so, what would the affect be of just using the Verizon router for connection to the internet and not using the airport extreme?

That will depend on the exact generation / model of the AirPort extreme. Older ones will probably limit it to their max speed. Newer ones may handle the speed just fine. They won't actually limit the speed or bandwidth of the router, but will limit the bandwidth of the devices connected to the Airport.

No effect really. You'll use the wifi network provided by the Verizon router instead of the one provided by the Airport Express.

Nope. Maximum bandwidth of a 4th generation Airport Extreme is 600Mbps. At 150 you are way below its max.

Though other things, like walls, distance etc... may have some effect, it should be able to deliver the full 150Mbps to connected devices as long as they support the 108.11n wifi spec. Which most modern devices like iPhones, Macs, etc.. do.
