iPad keep ringing after I answer the call on my iPhone?

When my iPhone 6s rings my Mac and iPad ring too; that is what I want to happen, the problem is....mu Mac and iPad keep ringing after I answer my iPhone! I have to decline the call/hang up on the Mac and iPad to get ringing to stop! The ringing will continue even after I end the call on my iPhone. Oh yeah...this doesn't happen on every call, intermittent issue. Can anyone help me stop this?? 😕

I am having the exact same problem too, with an iPad Air 2 and iPhone SE. I tried the fix above and it didn't solve the problem. It only seems to occur when the iPad is plugged in. One thing that I noticed though, is that when I answer the call on my iPhone, the sound on the iPad changes ... the ringing goes faster but it does not stop until I turn the ipad on and off again.

Just had the same problem Ringing continue on iPad after answering the iphone. So I followed the support instructions for turning off the phone settings and iPad FaceTime setting. It didn’t work but when I unplug the cord on the iPad and turned it over and plug it back in it stopped the iPad from ringing after a phone call was answered. Don’t ask me why I have no idea. But it must have something to do with the power cord...

I have the exact same problem with my iPhone 6s Plus. The only time this occurs is when my iPad Air is plugged in. As soon as I disconnect the cord from the iPad the ringing stops. I have tried to reset my iPad Air to factory settings but the problem reoccurred. Please post if you have found a solution to this problem as will I. I do plan to call AppleCare again as the problem persists. I have tried different power cords and power outlets and that doesn't seem to help. I can't seem to figure out the cause so far.

Hello kastefam,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing issues with phone calls on your iPad and Mac continuing to ring after you answer the call on your iPhone. If you haven’t already, please turn this feature off and then back on. First, go on your iPhone to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices and turn this off. Then go on the iPad to Settings > FaceTime and turn off Calls from iPhone. On your Mac open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, and unselect Calls From iPhone. Then setup iPhone Cellular Calls again using these steps:

  • Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
  • Each device is signed in to FaceTime with the same Apple ID.
  • Each device has Wi-Fi turned on.
  • Each device is connected to the same network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  • On iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices.
  • On iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone.
  • On Mac, open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, then select Calls From iPhone.

Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch

Let us know the results of this test. We'll help you get through this. Cheers!
