I have uninstalled a plugin from FCPX, but I keep on receiving a notice of it being out of date even if it's no longer there (and never been used). Is there a way to terminate these notices on opening the application? Thank you!

Go to Macintosh HD/library/Plugins/Fxplug/
remove the *.pluginkit file and the *.fxplug folder of the out of date pixel film studios plugins and you're home free....

Give that try:
quit FCPX
in Finder, Menu bar, click one 'Go' while holding the opt-key
select 'Library'
in there, goto 'Application Support'
search for any PixelFilmStudio related files&folders (name?) - erase them

could probably damage/delete your wanted plugins from that company!
Which plugin? Does it have an installer or did you manually install it?
It's the Projection Plugin by Pixel FilM Studios, and it had an installer (but not an uninstalled),
You'll have to contact them. Everything they touch seems to go south.
