The TV App will not open

I've had the new update for less than 24 hours, and it changed the videos app to the TV app. It worked earlier today, but when I went to watch one of my downloaded movies just now, it flashed a TV is not available, check your internet connection. The connection was fine, but now the app is just a white screen upon opening and nothing can be viewed. And the old app was so simple and always reliable!

I believe the best option for this is to try the troubleshooting steps provided in this help article: If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open .


If you get to the section titled "Delete and reinstall the app", you can do this using these steps:


1. Delete the TV app. You can use this help article: Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10 .

2. Restart your iPhone. If needed, use this help article: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .

3. Use the first article provided and reinstall the TV app.

When I open the tv app I only get a white blank screen. I can't watch any of my movies or tv shows that I purchased from the iTunes Store. My account is at us iTunes account, but I am not currently in the states. Is this always going to be an issue? Because then I don't see a point in purchasing movies when I cannot watch them from my phone wherever I go.


Please help resolve this issue - thank you

This is not a permanent fix. Once the ipad syncs with either iCloud or my laptop, we're back to this issue. This is a flaw in the way the TV app is DESIGNED. The app's primary function isn't to get me to the content downloaded to my device, the primary function is showing me the videos in the iTunes store that i could watch, or might want to watch. I don't need a Dad to suggest stuff to watch.
