Problem with Sierra 10.12.3 and Canon driver

I have installed the latest Sierra update 10.12.3 and latest driver for my Canon Pixma MG2500. The printer end of it works but the scanner does not. Going in through system preferences, the scanner window is greyed out. Does anyone have an answer to this please? Thanks in advance.

Your MG2500 Series printer/scanner requires two drivers, one for the printing function and the other for the scanning side, have you updated both - from Canon US they are:

MG2500 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 16.10.0.0 (Mac)

ICA Driver Ver.4.1.3 (Mac)

I have the MG7150 and the update to 10.12.3 did not cause any issues, have you just done a point update or have you come from a previous OS, if it's the latter you might need the latest ICA driver as well.

With the new driver you still might need to reset the printing system as advised by Eric.

I also believe Apple going from 10.12.0 to 10.12.2 also resolved an issue on the printing side with there preinstalled driver support - but again I installed the manufacturers version to get full functionality.
