Does the card meet the standard? You must be a legal resident of the country of the store that you are trying to use. The card must be issued by a bank in that same country and have a verifiable billing address in that same country.

Prepaid debit cards bought in a local store are not aprroved to use.

Ajibola, you can't make any purchases at the moment with your Nigerian card because of the recent Apple update of giving you the Naira equivalent. Most Nigerian banks have disabled Dynamic Currency Conversion, DCC. So it's either Apple reverts back to the dollar payment method or you get a Dollar card. Other means of payment would be the iTunes gift card.

Goodluck!

pelumiajibola: There have been several similar topics and 25232lv's response is along the lines of others I have seen. The second link in the post labeled as "Apple recommends" takes you to an almost useless, highly generalized statement about "available payment methods" and certainly does not address this specific issue with payment in Nigeria. I don't see how the first link helps either since you clearly have an iTunes Store in Nigeria and presumably if you were trying to buy something that is not on the list then it wouldn't appear in the first place.
