Hello

This is taken from Apple's website:

Delete an app

To delete an app from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, use these steps:

  1. Touch and hold the app until it jiggles.
  2. Tap the User uploaded file in the upper-left corner to delete.

If you're asked to confirm that you want to delete the app, tap Delete.

If you press too firmly on an app, you might open the app's Quick Actions menu. Tap outside of the Quick Actions list and then lightly touch and hold on the app to try again.

If you don't see an User uploaded file in the upper-left corner when the app jiggles, you might have restricted the ability to delete apps on your device. You can turn off the restriction in Settings. Learn more about using Restrictions on your device.

Deleting an app doesn't cancel a subscription. Learn how to manage your subscriptions.

You can also hide (and unhide) apps.

Okay I understand. Just to let you know you're not speaking directly to Apple here. We are users just like you.

Every time I try to delete or move an app on my 7 Plus it works for me. And has always worked.

You can try changing the sensitivity of 3D Touch by going to:

Settings > General > Accessibility > 3D Touch

You can submit feedback to Apple using the following link:

This worked! The screens are apparently pressure sensitive. If I press too hard, I get the share option of some other BS menu.

The pressure sensitive that you are referring to is 3D Touch. If you are not aware of that, you can check that out in the iPhone User Guide here, http://help.apple.com/iphone/10/. You also have the option to turn off 3D Touch.

Gus: thanks for trying to help! I'm sorry if this wasn't clear but the reason I said what I said was that I completely understand the concept of "press and get jiggle and x" and the point is that while up until THIS UPDATE that worked brilliantly, and even when they added 3D where a deeper/harder press got you more, "press and get jiggle and x" worked. IT NO LONGER WORKS ALL OF THE TIME. It does sometimes work - just did it on an app - but an hour ago no matter how persistently, consistently, and at all pressures I pressed to get the jiggle, it would not jiggle, but instead "grayed out" until you pressed hard enough to get to the 3D.

So you know, the app I was actually trying to move inside a folder was CNBC. My CNBC app had stopped providing notifications - yes I know how to turn them off and on, choose banners, alerts etc. - and I want it for work, so I deleted it, stupidly assuming that I could simply download it again. (Perhaps the reason it stopped working for alerts is that in the form in which I had it, it is gone from the app store, and now is only a more limited CNBC news app which is utterly useless. I am VERY unhappy with THIS change but that's another story.) I wished to move the new app to the back of the folder, and no matter how I pressed could not. I rebooted and played and FINALLY got it to move but what should be easy peasy has become an ordeal at best and impossible at worst.

Gus - I keep trying to mark your post on changing 3D touch sensitivity as helpful but it won't let me! ;(

So you know it did NOT help me, but it is generally helpful information to be reminded of. My screen seems to have a mind of its own but so far all I have found to do is touch it VERY VERY lightly and just leave my finger there to get it to eventually X. As I noted the update just seems to have screwed up the haptic sensitivity in some way.

And fyi, for anyone following this discussion it turns out I was right: the CNBC app I use and love was discontinued - with no notification or warning mind - so hopefully the new one - which I do not like so far - will do notifications. I have added several additional investment apps to take its place. Ah well; things change and we just ride the wave.

Thanks for trying to help Gus, it's really appreciated.
