Apple Watch out of range of iPhone

Is there a setting that will give you an audible or vibration alert on the Apple Watch when the paired iPhone is out of range? The red icon appears, but I have in the past gone a considerable distance before I notice the red icon. An alert other than visual would have prevented me from leaving my iPhone.

Hi

Apple Watch does not presently offer that functionality as a built-in feature.

However, you may find that a third-party app meets your needs. For example:

Lookout – Security, Backup and Missing Device

You may wish to check user reviews in the App Store before making any purchases.

If you would like to send feedback to Apple regarding the built-in features, you can do so here:

Any hint?

Another user noted earlier within this thread (October 2017) that Lookout has removed this feature.

I have replied to your own thread here:

Re: Apple Watch Notification when iPhone out of range

If you went out of a Bluetooth range and you visit A Wi-Fi that you have previously been in with your phone connected, it will reconnect with that Wi-Fi network without the phone being near. Likely this is what happened. Things like iMessages email notifications etc. will still work in Wi-Fi with the watch only.

If it goes into this mode, you will see it connected with a cloud icon rather than the phone in the control center(swipe up from bottom display)
