"Cannot Connect to App Store" and "Verification failed : There was an error connecting to apple id server"

I can't open App Store get the message "Cannot Connect to App Store"

When I sign out and back into iTunes & App Store I get the error message "Verification failed : There was an error connecting to apple id server"

However when I use the same ID and PW on my mac it works. When I try a different ID and PW I get the same error message.

Have you gone to AppleId.Apple.com on your Mac and logged in with your Mac? Maybe go in there and remove the two iOS devices under device settings and then try logging them back in. If you have 2fa enabled then you'll be prompted on your Mac for the code. Might work, might not but worth a try. Could be a stuck keychain file somewhere in the iOS devices especially if you don't have iCloud Keychain enabled on them.

Let me know if this works, please.

This worked for me. I tried the date and time thing, hard resetting my iPad and all the little quick fixes but nothing worked. It wouldn't let me sign in or out of iCloud and when I connected via usb to iTunes it would say that I needed to turn off Find My iPhone to be able to do a full restore. And of course I couldn't turn that off because it wouldn't let me sign out. Going to appleid.apple.com, signing in and removing the iPad immediately made my iPad react and all my old/stuck data started coming through, iMessages, reminders and calendar additions. Very interesting. I was able to sign in without a problem after this. It requested the 2 step authentication from my mac and I put the code in and done. I suspect my issue had something to do with removing my iPad from my wireless phone plan. I got the iPad from AT&T and had cellular service with it until recently my contract was up so I decided to remove it as I generally don't use the iPad outside of wifi enabled areas. Maybe something with the deactivated sim but anyways THANKS! I was pulling my hair out trying to find a fix.

I had similar issue when I had to replace my iPhone 6. After doing the restore, I was not able to login into the the iTunes Store. Tried number of times and started getting "Verification Failed" error - which got me worried that my account might get locked out. Interestingly, it was picking my prior & defunct AppleID automatically. Changing the AppleID to my correct AppleID did not work either. After trying different things (checking time, logging directly into iTunes store from Mac, etc.), I shut the device off and restarted - after which the correct AppleID showed up in the login prompt, and I was able to login. Not sure whether the non-technical audience would have the patience to deal with stuff like this. It should be very simple - enter AppleID once and have it work across the board without asking to re-enter several times when replacing the device.
