Fake / Hacked "Safari Web Content quit unexpectedly" message

I do not have this reporting option turned on in my preferences. Yet for the last week it suddenly started popping up and since I clicked on it, it appears that something was downloaded onto my computer and now my computer is running loud and hot like someone is hacking it.
