My macbook sounds like a robot

When I am watching Youtube videos or Netflix on my macbook pro, it will start out fine and then turn into a robot/helicopter morphed sounding audio, and sometimes turn completely to a robotic static sound. When I unplug my headphones and plug back in it goes away, but will then come back again. There is nothing going on inside the headphone jack that looks unusual. I am very confused and have never had this experience before. My Macbook is only around 6 months old.
