Find My iPhone is "Always On"

Has anyone ever encountered an "Always On" Location Services icon in the top corner of an iPhone? When I drill in to my Privacy > Location Services settings, it is Find My iPhone that is tracking my location, but it is doing it constantly throughout the day. I have 2 other devices that are registered with Find My iPhone, but neither of them have that Location Services icon on unless I intentionally log in to Find My iPhone and start tracking the devices.

iPhone 7, iOS 10.1.1

How are your other devices set up? Are they also hiding the icon?

Are you sure find my iPhone is not using location services because you enabled a feature - such as the 'send last location' low battery feature?

Also double check your account is not set to lost mode for that device. You can disable & reenable FMI to see if it alters the behaviour.

What type of icon is shown? They are explained in the location services info.

If you can't figure it out take it to an Applestore to confirm it is not working correctly.

If you are having Beta issues, then you should know that you should not be posting any questions or issues regarding the Beta on a public forum. You signed an NDA prohibiting you from doing so. You were given a specific link to contact with any Beta issues: Apple Beta Software Program. Please, if you are going to participate in the Beta program, adhere to the clear rules that have been set down in order for you do participate.

My other devices are working as normal. I never set the status of location services to not show so that I am aware when an app tracks my location.

Send my location is on, but the icon still appears even when I have more than 50% of battery left.

Enabling and re-enabling Find my iPhone removes the icon, then comes back at random intervals.

It's a purple icon when I check the status on the Find my iPhone toggle meaning it's the one that's tracking my location.

I'm not an Apple newb, and this activity is not normal. Again, this only happened after updating to iOS 10.3 Beta that's why I'm checking if others on the same condition experience this.

Apple Store won't help as they would require me to restore to the current official release firmware prior to my appointment.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.
