Cannot save file, says file does not exist

Just got a refurb 2015 MBP 15.4" Retina, completely clean install of Sierra, and just bought Logic 10.3.

Every time I try to save a project, I get an error message saying that the "file cannot be saved, file does not exist", which is clearly not true as the file is open and I am working on it currently. I'm saving all of my projects to an external 2TB HDD.

I've tried a previously posted workaround wherein one makes an alias of the folder they're attempting to save to, then renames it "Logic" and replaces the stock folder in User>Music. Error message persists.

Anyone have any insights?

SOLVED. What I did was create a new folder of a similar name and try to save files into that folder (which is located on the external drive like the current one). Saving into that folder works perfectly.

Did a Get Info on both to see the difference: apparently the old one had strange permissions. In fact, my computer couldn't even tell what user had Admin privileges for that folder, it just kept saying "Fetching..." where it would normally say Diego (Admin).

So it dawned on me what had happened. Upon receipt of this laptop I set it all up and used Logic and created the save folder on my external. My admin name was diego like usual. I had some issues with the laptop and had to wipe and reinstall Sierra. Well, my new admin name on this install is still diego, but I am technically a different user in the eyes of the OS. So the folder had no idea how to handle the permissions for that folder since there are two admins with the same exact name but different user IDs, or something like that! Therefore, no ability to determine who has admin privs, thus, no saving on that folder. New folder, my permissions only, problem solved!
