Macbook pro freezes and reboots randomly

Ive had this macbook pro 13' retina for about a year and a half, which worked fine. For the past month it has gone through stages of constantly freezing.

When it freezes, it will mostly just freeze on whatever is on the screen, with every button except the power button unresponsive. This requires me to shut down the system by holding down the power button. If I leave it without restarting, it will eventually turn itself off after about 30 seconds. When it freezes, if there was music or a video playing, the sound will repeat the last syllable heard over and over. Occasionally, it will freeze with a black screen, with everything else the same.

Its hard to explain, but once it freezes once, usually triggered by a game or something similarly "high powered?", it will start to do it more regularly, usually after 10 - 60 seconds after rebooting. I'll have to keep rebooting until it stops. If I try and boot a game, it will automatically freeze after about two minutes of playing.

I have tried doing a complete factory reset, reinstalling ios and wiping everything. I bought it into a repair store, where they ran diagnostics and checked the hard drive, which came out clear, so apparently it is not a hardware problem. The repair person told me that the best bet was to buy a new laptop, but I don't have the money for one, and it seems ridiculous that I should have to replace a laptop that it not that old, and is otherwise working fine.

I would greatly appreciate some help

Thanks

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 10.2.1
