Is there something to be done on the motherboard end? I know, for example, ASUS and Gigabyte offer apps/drivers that somehow up the current/amperage/voltage of usb sockets thereby enabling “rapid charge”.
It’s really frustrating Apple‘s so dodgy about charging the iPad Pro 12.9.
First they don’t give you an AC adapter that will charge while using it at full brightness, essentially obligating you to buy another adapter.
Then they don’t tell you that along with the 29w adapter you really have to buy the OEM USB-C to Lightning cable as well because of PD or Power Distribution ( iPad Pro 12.9‘s particular brand of quick charging) . For over year, i was not taking advantage of power distribution‘s enhanced charging because Apples own USB-C to A adapter IS NOT PD COMPATIBLE (as is necessary with 29W adapter). So In other words, if you bought the 29w adapter but tried to save a little money by sticking with the cable you already had and just purchased apple’s adapter, you really didn’t do much to improve your situation. If anyone has a link to corroborating data let me know otherwise feel free to buy a line tester from Amazon and go down to Apple Store Palo Alto and spend three hours there.
