Power Beats 3 light won't turn off and won't pair.

I went for a run today and I noticed that the volume kept going down without me touching the controls on the headphones or my phone. I hooked up the headphones to charge. After a while I took them off the charger and now the light won't turn off on the headphones and they won't pair with my phone. I tried to reset the headphones per the instructions, but nothing responds.

Any ideas?

Hey dude! Has anyone found a solution? This is happening to my Beat X headphones. Won't turn off..

I hold power and volume down button and all it does it resets it to search for devices. I've held power down for 20 seconds and it shuts off. Moment I let go, it turns back on.

Somebody please help!!

I've been able to get my headphones working, but they're still malfunctioning. I can pair and hear music but the play/pause/volume buttons don't work.

I had the permanent red light thing, so I let the battery run out which took overnight. I gave it a quick charge then I held the power button for 10 seconds. The white light came on and it paired like you would expect. I still get random pausing of music but it will be good enough for a workout until I can visit an Apple Store.

I've had the exact same problems with my Powerbeats 3 headphones. I've just had them replaced two weeks ago and they've gone again - this time they were fully charged but next morning reported 5% battery only. Have charged them again and they won't connect to any devices. I've reset the headphones, the phone, turned bluetooth on & off etc.

I am loathe to return them to Apple again as I'll just get another set. I wonder if I could replace them for something else at the Apple Store?

For what its worth, I think its definitely related to the water-resistance (or lack of) of the remote unit. Moisture is getting in there and causing havoc.

I had a pair of Powerbeats 2 which were replaced 3 times in a year before I received a refund for them. The only reason I bought a pair of 3's was that I had been assured the redesigned remote would not suffer from the same issues.

I had the same issue with my week old Beats Solo 3. I called tech support online and that got them working for a day and then back to issues. It would also disconnect out of no where. I ended up returning them for a new pair. No issues with new pair now. I think there might be a large batch of defective solo 3 wireless beats going around 😟

In reference to everyone's replies here, I have had this issue 4 times. Every single time, I've received a new pair from Apple Beats 3 earbuds. They work fine at first for a few of my outdoor runs and then it happens, out of no where, they stop working! I have no other solutions either and Apple has't been able to resolve this issue for me either. Apparently, there only solution is to replace them with new ones every single time since it isn't worth the cost of repairing them for Apple.

After careful review on my usage, I think sweet is getting into the controller located on the cable portion. Though Apple doesn't really state there is an IPX rating (water resistance rating level) to this device ( at least I haven't found the rating), I don't think it is 100% true.

If you look at the little plastic lid that covers the buttons (held by small clips), you will see the contacts are exposed and the salt from your sweat might be negatively reacting with the controller's internal components.

At this point, I am out of options and it seems that I am out of $249 bucks! Apple won't refund me because I bought them at Best Buy (Never again buying an Apple product there!) and Best Buy won't refund anything because I am pass the 14 days and they don't warranty them since Apple covers the warranty....Which at this point it is useless unless I keep getting new ones every couple of weeks smh...smh...😠😟

Really would just like to hammer home the water damage reasoning. Read this thread and realized this is definitely what happened to me. I was working out the other day, sweating a good amount, and my headphones died out of nowhere, even though I know I had charged them at least 12 hours.

Now I am experiencing what many others on here have written about. Very disappointing - I have the special edition PB3's - LEBRON JAMES is on the freakin box and the product breaks from sweat after 2 weeks. Horrible!
