Add header row in middle of table?

Hi,

I am trying to make it so I have two header rows in the same table. In the picture below, you can see how I would like it to look. The only problem is that the picture below uses two tables when I want it to be one table. I found as way to add more header rows but they can only be in the top rows not in the middle of one with white rows in between. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Noah

Hi Noah,

Header Rows (and Header Columns and Footer Rows) are just that in a table.

They have magical powers.

Here is a table with one Header Row, one Header Column and one Footer Row.

The formula SUM in Footer Cell D5 ignores itself and the Header Row 1. It sums only the Body Cells (D2 to D4).

If you add more Body Rows, the formula will automatically adjust.

That is the Pages (and Numbers) way of using small tables, each with a purpose 😉.

Ian.

Hi Noah,

"Header" rows have that name because they appear at the "Head" of a table.

Placing a "Header" row in the middle of a table is akin to describing a professional soccer player using his derriere or his belly button to redirect the ball as having made a 'header.' Both are legal maneuvers, neither is a 'header.'

If what you really want is a colour-filled row, then Peter's advice tells what to do.

Barry
