The built-in keyboard is not repeating when I press and hold the key. I'm using MacBook macOS 10.12.3.
Tried many steps suggested by Apple support and nothing seems to resolve the issue.
Any updates on this matter!

To have repeating keys enter this command in the Terminal
defaults write NSGlobalDomain ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false
this will disable the diacritical popup menu.
to re-enable enter this in the Terminal…
defaults write NSGlobalDomain ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
Click system preferences > keyboard > keyboard tab > key repeat
I forgot to mention, you may have to quit any open apps and restart them to see the change.
