Sharing USB Printer PLEASE HELP ASAP!

I have an existing wireless network with a D-Link DI-514 router and I installed the airport express software on one of my computers connected to my network. Then I connected my airport express to my printer and plugged it in and it shows the amber colored light flashing. I did the airport setup assistant and I followed the instructions to get my airport express to join my network and when it says connecting it says it cannot connect to my network or it doesn't have a base station. Must it be connected to my router to work??????? In the instructions it doesn't say it has to.

It dose if you are going to set the airport up using wireless client. The flashing amber light means it not connected to your network. I suggest you plug the airport next to the router to see if it links. If it dose you range it to far.
