Locked out of MacBook Pro after changing iCloud email

Hello!

My iCloud email/Apple ID was an account I no longer use (and have deactivated), so I changed it to my current email address. It worked on my iPhone and iPad. So far, so good. But my MacBook Pro does not seem to have changed the ID email - and now I'm locked out of my MacBook.

I'm currently trying to temporarily re-activate my old email account, in order to try changing it all back to the previous iCloud setting so that I can (hopefully) log into my MacBook and then go through the process of changing everything/every device to my new email again... but just my luck, Yahoo is having technical problems and I haven't yet been able to re-activate.

Is there any other feasible way to be able to access my MacBook so that I can change the account information? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing just happened to me. Select "Guest" which will force computer to reboot to guest mode. Then just use the Apple logo button to restart again back to normal. Then try to login with several diff passwords. The computer will ask "did you forget your password, you can restore with your icloud account?" Then click yes on that, logon with your new email and pass, it will get you in and then you have to fix keychain again. Apple, you really ducked up what should be easy!! Changing email happens once in two years on average this should be a simple process!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I really appreciate it. I just tried the solution - and can only get up to a certain point. I.e. After rebooting in guest mode, restarting, restoring with iCloud account, and then entering the password - all of which works - I click on my username and upon entering my password, am told the obvious: that the account uses an iCloud password and I can change it under the Apple ID web page. So it looks like an appointment with the Apple Store techs is in order.

Again, thank you very much for your help (and I'm glad your problem was solved)!
