Nike Run Club crashing during runs on Apple Watch Nike Edition

My last 4 runs the NRC app crashes during my runs. Yesterday it crashed just half a mile into a 10k. NRC keeps running on my iPhone 7 so I'm not loosing my run data but whats the point of using the watch if I can't track anything for my run. I loose the ability to track heart rate for the run as well. I uninstalled the app from both watch and phone then did a hard reboot on both before adding it back. Anything else I could do to ensure it won't crash every run? Both devices are up to date on latest software versions.

I bought my watch back in December. Never hard any issues until about March. It crashes about 25% of the time. Very annoying that my Nike edition iwatch will not run the NRC app without crashing. I bought my watch for the purpose of running. Feel like it might have been a waste of money. They really need to fix this problem, as I had no issues when I first bought the watch. Not that Nike will care, but I would hope they think more carefully before doing a deal with Apple in the future. I am a real Apple fan, and even though I have some issues with their products I still support the brand. However, I will think more carefully in the future. This is totally unacceptable. A total waste of money. A Nike edition iwatch that can't run the NRC app.

Hey Nathan,

I had the same timeframe and path of problem. The cause were several updates introduced after another from Apple and Nike. However Update all software (iOS 10.3.2 and watchOS 3.2.2) and you will be running without disruption!

If you have further issues with the Run Club App after updating all Software, i suggest to contact Nike Support . This can be very quickly done through the app in any major language and location from within the App : Click on your initials or your profile pic top left in the app-> Settings-> Contact Us -> Phone or Twitter.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. Cheers

I'm still having the problem as well, 15 miles into a run and it crashes. It feels like a cache issue related to GPS data on the watch. I'm in marathon training and just ordered a basic Garmin for long runs, I already lost my half marathon PR to a crash in May. I dont have any trust in this and Nike/Apple don't really acknowledge the issue.

If I like the Garmin, it may be goodbye AW and I'll pull the trigger on a Fenix. It will make me sad because I love it, but if it can't do the functionality that I require of it I might as well be wearing a paperweight.

You can't sell this as a fitness device...... if it doesn't work as a fitness device at random!!!!!

I have been having this problem for about a year. I’m running OS4 and still have the problem.

It seems to happen when one of the activity rings closes. As soon as it goes to the activity ring notification, the run app crashes. It can be restarted after about five attempts and continues the run usually, but not always. Sometimes the data is completely lost, which is frustrating after about 15 km.

I contacted Nike support and got a response that they were working on it last week. Nothing since then.

I have never had a problem with the Runkeeper app on Apple Watch, but they got rid of their marathon training schedules in the free version, which is why I started using the Nike+ app.

I am also having issue after issue. For me I have to attempt to launch the app 5 times or more for it to finally boot to the start screen and even then you have to wait a minute or more to be able to scroll down to set a distance or speed run. Certainly isn’t conducive to just gettting out the door and running. My app gets very buggy on long runs especially if I have to pause a run to get some water or take a bathroom break. From that point on it starts to crash and restart and then the gps starts to get off. Nike branded watch and the app is unfunctional. Was a lot of money to buy a buggy product. Rest of the watch works fine but not the Nike branded part. I’d get in on a solution apple since you sell the branded version. Should be rock solid and just work like other things apple on the watch.
