Nike Run Club crashing during runs on Apple Watch Nike Edition

My last 4 runs the NRC app crashes during my runs. Yesterday it crashed just half a mile into a 10k. NRC keeps running on my iPhone 7 so I'm not loosing my run data but whats the point of using the watch if I can't track anything for my run. I loose the ability to track heart rate for the run as well. I uninstalled the app from both watch and phone then did a hard reboot on both before adding it back. Anything else I could do to ensure it won't crash every run? Both devices are up to date on latest software versions.

Hi

I suggest that you consult Nike's support resources and/or contact Nike for assistance with issues relating to their Nike+ Run Club app:

I have the same problem, the app crashes while running and you lose the continuity of your excercise, No calories on your activity, No Splits info, and I did what you mention: "uninstalled the app from both watch and phone then did a hard reboot on both before adding it back" but yesterday the same result (Data Lost and crashes while running)

I dont know if its a watch problem or app problem. But im thinking of switching to Runkeeper or other option. And by the way Nike+ Support is useless and a waste of time.

Same issue. I wrote I think 15 mails to Nike support but same answer: we are still working on it... I'm frustrated. i'm thinking to use the native app called workout definitely.

it's since december '16 that I start to wrote about this issue. How could it be possible that nobody in technical dept. in NIKE are able to solve this issue??? in 3 month!!!

I don't think so because if I disinstall and reinstall the app start to work better again same track same distance, maybe a little bit more km and it work. Just did it this morning. It seems that some data are stored and when the space is almost empty start to crash in some way...

But for me is unbelievable that a technical dept. in 3months is not able to solve an issue that lot of people have. Gps work pretty good but app crash save kms, the pace of the first km but is not able to store splits, the other pace, hearth frequency and calories...

Interesting.

I have also had sporadic crashes. Distance did not matter. Or running app--Nike, runkeeper or Strava. Once with the Watch workout app, it changed from RUN to an OPEN WATER SWIM!

My problem with the GPS is instant pacing. When I end my run, the distance and overall pacing pretty much matches my Garmin.

I Did this yesterday. I used Nike+ on my phone and the Apple workout app on my watch. They were within .05 miles of each other over a 6.75 mile run which was reassuring. The calorie burn between the 2 was about a 200 calorie difference which was odd. I would much rather just use Nike like I have been doing for years. hopefully an update can help the stability.

My last three runs have resulted in crashes and lost data. I rebooted the watch before leaving the house for the last run and it still crashed about 3 miles in. I'm going to move to RunKeeper and see if it's better. It's a real bummer b/c the pre-redesigned version of the Nike app was one of my favorite apps and now I'm forced to look elsewhere.

I'm on my 2nd Apple Watch.... Sent first one back after I had the same recurring issue of NRC app crashing... seems like it got worse when I started using the watch alone.... in other words to track my runs AND play music through my bluetooth headphones.

Very disappointing and not happy that a $400 Nike branded smart watch has these issues. And it looks like I am not alone.

This truly is frustrating. I purchased the Nike Apple watch specifically for the Nike Run Club functionality, and it continually crashes mid runs, losing all data. I ran in a Ragnar race this past weekend and had it happen yet again. I was asked countless times by various racers what I thought of my watch. My answer was simple. Go with another product. This will continue to be my response until the problem is addressed and solved.
