How can I access past device information under my Apple ID?

How can I access past device information under my Apple ID? For example, I need to find the serial number for an iPad that is no longer an active device in my account, but it was.

If you created a backup of the device in iTunes, you might be able to find it in iTunes if it wasn't written over. Open iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>Devices, take a look at the backup list. If it is there and you hover the mouse pointer over it, you will get the serial number and a little bit more information about the device.

If it isn't there, I am not aware of any other way to locate the serial number if you have removed the device from your account.

You seem to be asking about something that is not clear exactly what you're looking for. Consider:

  • I'm looking for the serial number of a device that used to be active but is no longer active
    • That I still possess
    • That I do not possess, but I have artifacts from this device
      • Its packaging
      • Its receipt
      • An email that says I de-registered it
  • I do not care about the serial number. I want to show I had an iPad registered under my Apple ID.
    • I have no other information about this device (including no longer own it). This is a hopeless case.
    • I have receipts
    • I have emails regarding establishing or de-establishing this as a device under my Apple ID.
    • I have the original packaging

I cannot find the receipt, if I could I would be able to answer the insurance company's inquiry. I have no other artifacts from this device and I no longer have the device in my possession as it was stolen months ago.

What I need to know is if and where can I access information inside my Apple ID about devices that were previously registered?

I agree with ChrisJ4203.

It sounds as if your Apple ID really has nothing to do with your concern. If I understand correctly, you are merely trying to prove previous ownership of this device so you can submit that to your insurance company.

You might consider contacting the establishment that sold you the iPad. Perhaps they have records ...
