Moon Next to Text Message

I have a strange problem that I've looked up that others have solved, but I cannot.

I don't receive any notifications from my husband - except when I go to my home screen i see the (1) on the messages badge. No sound, no banner, etc.

There is also a quarter moon next to his name at all times.

Neither of us have DND on. Neither have Night Shift on. I've turned of show in notification centre which some people suggested.

I've even deleted him as a contact and readied him. Still have a half moon. My software is updated, I've done many hard resets.

Any ideas?

I found the answer I believe. In messages, swipe left on conversation and you will see two options, show alert in blue, and delete converstation. Tap the blue to hide alert, that should solve it.

you can also open the conversatio, tap the circled I in top right corner. In details for that contact, make sure hide alert is off (old do not disturb). Hope that works.
