macbook pro shows battery and lighting symbol on startup

H all, after rebooting a 13"MacBook pro with ssd drive it shows a battery and lightning symbol and fails to boot any ideas please

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2), macbook pro 4 gig memory

To be clear, is this what you're seeing?

If so, your battery is too low to boot your Mac and needs to be charged. Plug in the power adaptor and see if you can boot.

If this isn't the problem, please post back with more information.

Thanks for reply, similar screen but the battery sign is green and looks to be about 80%, had various Macs over the years and never come across this before.

All software up to date including latest OS

Very odd! It might be worth resetting the SMC and see if this helps.
