I have an Apple TV gen 3 connected to my Vizio flat screen via an hdmi cable. What do I need to do to get the sound to come out through my Zvox soundbar? It is vital that I remain able to use Airplay from my iPad.

Optical out may be best if the soundbar accepts this and doesn't have HDMI to passthrough to the TV.
Audio should be be output over HDMI and optical simultaneously on ATV 3.
If the soundbar has an optical port then you could connect to the Apple TV that way.
