Googleadservices

Somehow, somewhere, "googleadservices" was installed on my iPad Pro. When I do a Google search, the first options available are "AdxXX" (such as Ad Tom Ford", etc). When I click on one of these "Ads" I am redirected to "googleadservices" in the URL Google and my iPad hangs forever. How do I permanently delete Googleadservices from my iPad? PS: I have tried several of the options listed in the Apple iPad support communities, but the problem keeps returning. Help!

[ Not sure how to make these images smaller to fit. I may try to insert them in a new msg]. When I do a search, it doesn't make a difference if I select an image of a specific toy or the name of a website preceded by 'Ad', the system will hang - forever. If I want a specific dog toy from an image, then my only option is to note the website listed with the image then open a new page, type the website name to go to the website and search for the toy. If it's just a list with the top ten sites preceded by "Ad", then I need to remember the website name, exit the "googleadservices" page, type in the site's URL and start again. Or try to find the website in the list (without the "Ad"). Could I skip past those websites preceded with "Ad"? Sure - but why have to when it didn't do this before? And I'm also noticing how that more and more things are "hanging" and/or I'm getting the message "web page still loading. Cancel? ..." Videos on AOL, non-photo printing, etc.

BTW, thanks to all of you that recognize that I am still new to Apple and its devices. I was a pretty good PC user but had some concerns about viruses, etc, so decided to make the change. Hence my frustration with this issue which would be called a virus in my work world of PCs. Also my confusion why some of my devices are in perfect sync (iPhone and iPad) but not synced with MacBook. And why my Mac and iPhone aren't affected by this issue, only my iPad. And the fact that Time Machine only backs up Mac, so my texts aren't saved 'cus my Mac isn't in sync with my iPad (Where the texts reside). And I can't seem to find an easy way to print the texts (with date and time), without using 3rd party apps/software, which again makes me uneasy that I might lose them or corrupt them somehow. Are you keeping up? Should I have known that the texts on the MBP would not be in sync with the iPad, or that Time Machine would, therefore, NOT backup the texts? Maybe so. I thought everything talked with everything in the Mac world so I never even considered I'd be in this situation. And most of all, that I'm even having to do a restore on something that's less than 8 months old and was the top-of-the-line device (along with the MBP and the iPhone that I also purchased at the time [a small car would have been less expensive - yikes!]). So again, thanks for being so gracious with your comments and help. It is appreciated.

OK, here's the status thus far:

1. I found a third-party app and copied/saved the texts to my Mac, printed them out, and feel secure with that aspect.

2. Even tho it backup routinely, I, just now, once again backed up my iPad to my Passport device via Time Machine.

3. I believe that I'm also linked to iCloud, which I will "unlink" (I forget the proper term) before the Erase $ Restore as New process.

4. My photos will be backed up yo the Cloud and to Passport, no? Do I need to copy them to my Mac? Many of them are already there - will the copy process "duplicate" them? I will have 2000+ photos if they duplicate!

5. I will save/copy/ print any documents created on my iPad (from Pages & Word) and Notes that are important.

6. Documents in Dropbox are safe, no?

7. I have very few songs on my iPad and I don't care if I lose them in the Restore process, but could I save them via iTunes during the Restore process if I wanted to?

8. I don't know why I'm such a worrier about "transferring" the virus or whatever this is to my Mac, but can I do a Restore w/o physically connecting my ipad to my Mac?

9. Is there anything else that I need to do before Restoring?

PS - Can I use my current Apple ID when setting up my Restored iPad or will it ask me to create a new one specific to the device?

OK, that's it from this Newbie! 😉
