Swimming distance

When I start using the workout app for swimming I can set the lane length and start the workout. The first 5 or 6 workouts all worked well. But now the distance says, already at startup, that I have done already about 21000 meters. So the distance is incorrect, the average also. But the lane count is correct and the time also. When I finish the workout the averages and total distance is ok. So during the swim workout the information about the distance and average are incorrect.

What can I do? Is there some kind of reset which can solve this?

@icvanee, I had the same problem with an Apple Watch Series 2 and watchOS 3.1.3. The swimming distance would immediately jump to somewhere around 2500, 5000, 7500, or 10000 yards and wouldn't change during my swim, although the lap counter still worked fine. The final distance (after ending the workout) was also correct.

My problem also wasn't solved by just Privacy > Motion & Fitness > Reset Calibration Data (as suggested by Apple Support). I then tried turning my watch off and on, and that (extra) step made the distance counter behave normally again. So if you haven't yet, try restarting your watch.
