Boot camp error, disk cannot be partitioned

Hi all,

I am trying to download windows 10 using bootcamp on my Mac and I continually get the same error message: "Your disk could not be partitioned" I have used first aid in disk utility to try and repair it and nothing happened (I tried to repair the disk a few times). I then researched the problem and found that I should boot in to safe mode and type in a command that checks and repairs inconsistencies in the file system. The command is /sbin/fsck -fy and it seemed to work for a lot of people but it did not work for me (I tried that command a few times to be sure as well). If anyone knows how I can fix this it would be much appreciated.

PS: I have attached a screen shot of the error message

Hey LT. I want to thank you so much for the time you invested in helping me with this. I truly appreciate it and I learned a lot.

I went to the Microsoft store and bought a Surface Studio. I could not invest anymore time.

No Dice...........

I would try kicking it but that only seemed to work when I fixed jets in the Navy.....

This issue is actually getting me to shop for a windows machine (the horror)

Boot into Internet Recovery, click on Utilities -> Terminal and run

diskutil repairDisk disk0

You can also do the same thing using Disk Utility and running First Aid.

You have a 3TB Fusion drive, but a CS LV of 750GB, with 2.4Tb Free Space. Is there a specific reason you have the partitions set up this way?

From Terminal, please run

diskutil cs resizeVolume 365CC16D-8E03-46F6-9DA4-6BB4D2D3CE21 0g

diskutil repairDisk disk0

Reboot and post the output of

diskutil cs list

This is expected, and hence the second repairDisk command needs to be run.

Good to see the Free Space added back to the CS volume. Can you now try to install Windows using BC Assistant? If you see any errors, please post exact error messages or screen shots of the errors.

Congratulations on the new Surface. If you do ever want to mess with the iMac again, please post back, and we can try to fix that which ails the Mac.
