apple remote desktop 3.9 client access denied
Since upgrade to apple remote desktop, access to all clients is denied (os sierra pre touch bar throughout). What remedies should be considered?

I am experiencing the same thing. In the list of computers, they all say access denied, but I can click on them and control them, but that is all I can do. I can't run reports or do other things even though I have the access on the clients set to allow me to do those things. I even sent a snail mail letter to Tim Cook complaining about the latest Apple Remote Desktop.
I spent over 2 hours on the phone with Apple tech support today. Unfortunately they admitted that all of the mentioned solutions do NOT work in every instance. I was told to wait for the bug fix... for 3.9 that engineering is working on.
In my case I didn't know that ARD 3.9 needed to allow connection to older versions of ARD. Why on earth is this even an option or a needed change?
The solution I needed to get things working again was just to simply allow the connection so all I did was set ARD preferences in Security to support older versions. Why? No clue - Since we manage the systems why would it be a security risk?
I am the network admin for about 50 iMacs running 10.11. I had an issue with all of them after running the Remote Desktop 3.9 update. I did some research online and tried this suggestion and it worked on all of the iMacs. Go to System Preferences/ Users and Groups/ unlock with your password/ click on the "wheel" at the bottom left. Up pops "set master password". Once I set the master password, all problems with Remote Desktop disappeared. I made the password the same as the one I use as administrator on the iMacs.
If you have not already submitted feedback on v.3.9, here is the link:

Done
I had the same problem. Go to preferences in Apple Remote Desktop and in the 'Security' tab on the top right select 'Allow communication with older clients (less secure).
I tried this an while older server became active, I still get access denied.
It did not solve the problem. Btw all macs run on OS Sierra.
Using the short version of client user accounts and giving myself full access in security worked for me, although current status still says 'Access Denied' I can still connect to all the clients.
All you need to do is enable the option "Allow communication with older clients (less secure)" in ARD's Preference settings under Security.
So far this technique (new admin user on client to authenticate to) has not helped me. Still denied access. Can screen share but no Send UNIX or Copy or Install Packages allowed.
This update has been a nightmare. Now remote doesn't work at all. It won't let me re scan to pick up different
IP#'s. I can't control hardly any of our computers. Apple needs to come out with a fix.
This is absolutely brutal. I use ARD for work and I have over a hundred remote clients
Sorry David,
That does not work.
This ARD 3.9 update is simply a debacle!
