I too have just started seeing pop ups on my mac saying the same thing. I'm wondering if it is some sort of virus that I've downloaded somewhere and this is all connected. When I called the number back it even sounded like a call center in the background and the woman had a very thick Indian accent but said her name was Jennifer.

Yes I just received the same phone call. The man spoke very bad English and was in a hurry to get off the phone when I started asking him validating questions. At which point I hung on him anyway and called 1-800-My-Apple and asked them about this phone number and type issue. They said they would never call and approach an issue like this in that way.
Any such call will be a scam.
MY wife got that call too. She also several times a day gets a pop up message on both her iPhone and iPad that she needs to log into her ITunes account for no good reason.
Would Apple call if the was suspicious activity on my ICloud account?
