Hello Everybody, I have an iPhone running IOS 10.2.1. I use Reddit any other social media and I was just wondering if it's safe to open links on these sites, I don't want to infect my device of its data.

There are no known viruses or malware that can affect an iOS device such as an iPhone.
There are however phishing scams, and other user dependent ploys that can get you to reveal sensitive information. Best course of action is to use common sense, and never give out any personal info on public forums like reddit.
Yes, you can click links. The worst thing that can happen is a toxic site will lock up Safari. But this is easy to clear by just clearing the cache in Settings/Safari. Just never enter any personal data into a site unless you have verified that it isn't a phishing site. See: Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support
Thanks for the response, I'm new to Apple products, I've owned Android devices for years. I was confused because the App Store doesn't have any antivirus software, so apart from phishing scams, I'm good to click Reddit links ?
The Google application is safe. So is any other browser. You can get Firefox, Chrome and Opera, plus a bunch of less well known browsers. But all of them are required to abide by Apple's security rules.
Yeah, the sandboxed nature of iOS prevents anything from leaving the browser and accessing other areas of the iPhone. Worst case, it locks up Safari, which you can clear and open again and all should be fine.
But being so secure, nobody writes viruses for iOS because its pointless. and viruses written for other platforms can;t even run on iOS.
So the likelihood of any infection is very very very slim.
