Why do some MPEG-4 (mp4,m4v) videos play on Apple TV Gen 4 and others don't. They all play on my older gen 2 unit.

Could be some of the issues mentioned here:

I assume these are 'home made videos' which may no longer have the correct profiles for ATV 4 but worked fine on older units - thank Apple if that's the case!
Hi. You can check the supported video formats in the specs, Apple TV (4th generation) - Technical Specifications. It seems that iOS was supporting some formats that were outside the specs, and these were removed with iOS 10. The same may have happened with tvOS 10.
Yes they are home movies I either created in iPhotos or iMovie. Why do some work and not others. Is there any information out there as to the actual format I need to know to make these work?
