My Ipod Nano has frozen, cannot be recognised by PC or Windows+wont charge!

I got my Ipod Nano christmas day and it worked perfectly- no problems at all. I came home boxing day, and charged it on PC ( all the itunes were installed) and it worked fine. The day after (today 27th) I used it around 9 O'clock in the morning, it worked perfectly and charged fine. I left it on my bed and went out about 11 O'Clock. I came back around 3 O'Clock and it wouldn't work. It won't switch on, charge up, and my PC and Windows doesn't even acknowledge it when i plug in the USB port. I have tried all my USB ports, pressing the buttons simoutaenously like it mentions in the support, but nothing!
I have no idea what to do! Can anyone help at all please! Thankyou x

my problem is sorta the same,I've recently got my hands on a 1GB nano and i don't know how long since it's been used.I've charged it for over 5 hours now but the screen still looks the same.It has the small non-animated icon for charging in the top right hand corner and a "Do not disconnect." sign in the middle of the screen. When i disconnect it from the pc the screen doesn't change until it uses up all the battery life and finally dies again, can i fix this myself????

PLEASE HELP ME!

I have a similar problem. I got it for christmas and its been fabulous I love it, my earphones have hardly been out of my ears since I got it.

But I went to turn it on this morning, all dandy, went to music > songs > selected a song to play and its frozen there, its not playing the music... it won't respond to anything, I plug it into the computer and my computer doesn't recognise that its there. It's fully charged it just won't do anything.

I solved my problem, or rather my more cool headed dad did.

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

just look at that and follow the instructions ... it might work for some of you.

To reset your iPod nano (2nd generation):

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

hope it helps.

Something similar happened on christmas i bought mine in november. I tried pluggin it in my grandmas computer and it made a weird beeping noise. Now my 360 wont recognize it nor my computer it just tells me device malfunctioned and it doesnt give me the choice to restart it or format it. I can still listen to music thorough headphones but i would like to put new music on their. It would be nice if u could help ^_^

I really do think perhaps Apple needs to make a recall for the Ipods shipped for Christmas. Because this is ridiculous!

Also, please no more " press the menu and select" it does not work! I've tried more than a dozen times and it's still not working.

It's going back to the shop tomorrow in exchange for a brand new one : )

I hope this next one works properly like it's supposed too....!
