if i have two iphones with the same apple id and i want to format one of the phones.will this earse the data from the other one as well?!

Can i format one of my two phones with the same id without loosing data on the other?

Yes. You can restore the one device as many times as you wish and it will not alter what is on the other. Your iCloud content will not be altered by a restore of either device. Changes to iCloud content would only sync across devices if you change things on the device while using it - eg. if you edit a contact, that edit will sync across devices when they connect to iCloud. Or if you delete a photo or photo's from the Photos app while using that device.


But plugging a device into iTunes and restoring it as new does not alter what is in iCloud at that that time, nor makes any changes on any other device. After you restore the device as new, you can sign back in to iCloud and re-sync everything if you wish.


A restore in iTunes is a completely different process than editing or deleting content on the device in apps or settings.
