Replacement airpod pairing

i received a replacement right airpod and it isn't pairing with the original left airpod and case. There's a constant flashing amber light (not steady) whenever I insert both airpods in the case.

HOlding the pairing button with both airpods in-case with it open doesn't work.

Help?

I'm sure apple made a way for you to be able to pair the replacement WITH the original opposite airpod If they made it so you can get a replacement separately. THANKS!

How can a text book solution proposition by sberman be "Apple recommended", but completely miss the point under discussion between multiple users sharing the same problem? Think different, anybody?

So bottomline:

Apple can't really send ONE replacement airpod at all even though they say they can.

Thanks! The force restart on the iPhone did it. I followed the diagram and I got the amber blinking until I did that.
