Has anyone been using iDVD to burn movies to DVD successfully in the latest Sierra? If so, please let me know what you have found that works.
I have already created the movie in iMovie (latest version) and have exported the file to my drive.

Go to the App Store and download one or two of the free DVD authoring apps and try your movie with it. Do the Save to Disk Image process to save on discs. If you can save that movie to disk image then it's iDVD that's the culprit. If the app crashes then we've narrowed down the problem to the movie, not iDVD.
If it's the movie reexport the movie out of iMovie and try again with the free app. Add no chapter marker if you did to the original movie.
Thank you. I think iDVD generally works for a straight forward import of a movie because it burned the first mini movies test I did. None of those had the MetaDoctor chapters however.
My goal was to have the scene selections as before. MetaDoctor works great because the scene selections appear in iDVD when importing the .mov quick time file. But the problem is burning to a DVD (or disc image) from there.
I just did the same test but this time I did a "save as" to disc image. But before that, I went in and removed the loop videos in each menu page and replaced the image with a .jpg photo. However, the disc image process also failed. It must be the movie then with the coded chapter markers. This is a bummer.
If I choose eventually not to have scene selections anymore, iDVD will probably burn to a DVD fine as long as the movie is not too long. I will test my original movie out using my earlier file (without the chapter markers) into iDVD and save to disc image and see what happens.
It didn't finish encoding in Best Performance and I just got out of it.

I don't think the encoding will finish because Best Performance is for projects that are 60 minuets or less in length.
Try the High Quality setting.
Also how much free space do you have on your internal, boot drive?
Let the encoding continue and see what happens. If it finishes then we won't look the gift horse in the mouth. But don't hold your breath.
Will do. It probably won't work because of the length. It's 3/4's of the way done so far.
