2010 MacBook Pro - Swollen Battery

Hi,

Just wondering, I have a 2010 MacBook Pro (15") that has a swelling battery, it's not super noticeable when you look at it but it's interfered with my Trackpad. I can't click with it because it's stuck. My laptop wobbles slightly when place on the table.

Being that my laptop is going on 7 years old, is there really nothing that can be done to fix this?

The computer worked fine until I couldn't click anymore. I bought this laptop in college, and it's really only used for paying bills and checking emails now.

Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thank you

Take the battery out NOW! It will continue to expand and can seriously damage the MBP. Replacement batteries can be obtained for your Mac. Anker and NuPower batteries are the ONLY ones determined to be acceptable third party batteries for Macs by veteran ASC participants. All others, especially bargain ones, are suspect until proven otherwise.

Ciao.

Hi,

Yes, you can fix it with a new battery. And I recommend you take out the old one immediately and dispose of it properly. A swollen battery can either begin leaking or actually break out of its casting. In addition, it will cause more and more damage to your MBP as it continues expanding.
