If you get a family share plan, does it share your songs on all devices or can you make your own private playlists?

If you get a family music plan can you have private playlists? Or do you have to share all of your music with each device?

Good evening MaciBrooke20,

Welcome to the Support Communities!

When you set up Family Sharing, each person joins the family with their own Apple ID. So, if you purchase a Family Membership to Apple Music, each individual will have their own iCloud Music Library and their own playlists.

Here's a little more information on Family Sharing and Apple Music.

Family Sharing

Family Sharing makes it easy for up to six people in your family to share each other’s iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases without sharing accounts. Pay for family purchases with the same credit card and approve kids’ spending right from a parent’s device. Share photos, a family calendar, and more to help keep everyone connected.

What types of content can I share with Family Sharing?

Apple Music and Family Sharing

With a Family Membership to Apple Music, families of up to six people can enjoy all of the benefits of Apple Music.

Each member gets unlimited access to the entire Apple Music catalog, music recommendations tailored to their personal music tastes, and access to their own iCloud Music Library, which makes it possible for them to listen to their music on all of their favorite devices.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
