Unhelpful Guides

I have some issues with the guides in Keynote. 1) They always show up on top of objects, completely obscuring the object if it is a 1 pt. horizontal or vertical line directly under the guide, making it difficult to select directly. (when you put the mouse over the line, the 'move guide' tool always appears) 2) There seems to be no option to hide the guides. 3) when using the color selection pallet for guide the 'opacity' option disappears. Gee, if I could set the opacity to less than 100% at least I could see objects underneath the guides!

This rant was more of a suggestion than a question and I also posted it to Apple's feedback page. I posted it here in case anybody had any helpful ideas.

Are you putting guides on your master slide or on each individual slide? If you put the guides on the master, they will only show up when you're attempting to align something. And, since they're on the master, you can't accidentally select them to move them either.

If there's a certain object that you DON'T want aligned, hold down the command key before you click and drag and it won't snap to the guides.

I used this in order to create the shapes on this page.

There is only one slide. I may be dealing with the 'master' slide, I don't know, I really just wanted to use Keynote as a drawing program for a quick little task, which it probably wasn't meant for. Anyway, it seems like the guide functionality in Keynote is still a long way off from maturity, I hope they address some of this stuff in future updates.
