It sounds like it might not be detecting your built-in keyboard:

Is there any chance that the internal keyboard has become unplugged or has any other problem that could cause it to not be seen?

Does an external keyboard work? If so, possibly you could open Bluetooth preferences and uncheck the option so that the Bluetooth Setup Assistant doesn't appear. Then you can test your built in keyboard and see if it is working or not.

Good luck!

I'm having the same problem. I don't have an external keyboard to test.

This issue happened suddenly. If relevant, I had a USB stick in while I was on Bootcamp and rebooted to Mac with the USB still in (I've done this many times before without any issues). Since then, whenever I reboot I get the "bootcamp setup assistant" screen, stuck searching a Bluetooth keyboard (which I have never had), and I can't login. I've booted in Safe mode and this hasn't made a difference. Any ideas? I can't get into a 'genius bar' until next week.

Thx!
