Is there a program or terminal command which displays the current CPU speed? I only find tools that display the maximum speed, only the temperatures or don't run at all. I need it for a MacBook Pro 15" (from 2007) with 2,2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
It is 2.2 or 2.4 or 2.6 GHz Intel core 2 duo. But you yourself write 2.2GHz.... what more do you want to know?
There are only 2 speeds for current processors, too slow, and fast enough. Both can be assessed without any additional software.
How can I read out these two values? The System Profiler does not show them, does it?
If you can't read them because it takes too long before you can see them then it is the first option.

afaik that is the current speed, unless there is a turbo speed possible (not here).

Steffen, your 2007 mac has either 2.2GHz CPU, or a 2.4GHz CPU, or a 2.6GHz CPU. There is no turbo mode in that mac, for any specification. And yours is 2.2GHz. Period. With or without battery.

Steffen, I'm sorry you keep getting bad information. Whether a processor has "Turbo Boost" or not, they vary in speed depending on load as you mentioned.
I remember and then my question to you was, how to read these two speeds out. You never answered it.
