apple watch sudden screen shatter

Hi, my wife's Apple Watch screen has suddenly shattered. The watch was on her wrist and we were just watching tv. Her wrist wasn't moving, we heard a crack, then the screen had shattered completely. I know this sounds completely strange but it actually happened! Has anyone else heard of such a fault? I could understand if the Watch had been dropped or knocked but it wasn't, it was stationary on her wrist?

Any ideas?

I can add myself to this list...my Series 3 screen cracked out of nowhere today...no physical impact. I was wearing my watch under my jacket while it happened...I heard it even crack. Unbelievable.

They don’t replace it. They act like it was your fault for making it crack and even found a small pin size scratch and said it must have been my fault. How in 3 weeks?
